confessions...

Today is an ideal day to create a blog which exists(in part) to promote earth consciousness: The sky is cloudless, the air is warm and fragrant, and the field outside my window is bursting with life. There are colors everywhere screaming to be noticed. My hope for this blog is to use it primarily to post little thoughts about my two great passions: Jesus Christ, and this beautiful world He came to redeem. I find that sadly, the church is typically the last place you find "green" people. I think those that go to extremes have made us afraid, and we run the other way. For a long time I was almost embarrassed to show my "earthy" side around Christians, for fear of disapproval. So this blog marks my "coming out of the closet" as it were. I'm Rebecca, and I'm a crunchy, Christian mama. And I hope you will join me...

Becca, I'm with you on being green. Not to horrific extents like buying goats and walking everywhere, but I recycle EVERYTHING and turn off lights and limit my driving and buy green products with increasing regularity. Love you!

What a minute, goats are green? Whoa, Em, if you've been seeing green goats I think either you or the goats need a checkup (-:

Well if they are "green" then I'm married to the greenist pastor around cause he did the goat thing for many years. (Yay Christie too!)
Now if I could just talk him into using our Baggu's (reusable bags) for the grocery store.

Love the blog!

I totally put my foot in my mouth!!! :) I didn't mean that way it sounded. It's an old joke in my family; we knew a guy who said you HAD to own goats and ride a bicycle (no cars!) to be holy.... which we resisted, of course. So I was being, is the word: ironic? Hyperbole? Something like that. Certainly not trying to be offensive.

I do wish I had a goat to mow the grass in my yard.

Em, I was teasing!!! You weren't being offensive, your turn of phrase just made me smile. Ugh the goat holiness thing, a bit scary. Did he eat locusts and honey as well? Hugs, Becca's only slightly crunchy Mama.

Hey Christie, nothing against the goats after all I married a man who raised Goats. (Toggenbergs maybe? Nubians? not sure...)I don't think he ever ate them though, just milk.
